My mum, Mamma Anna, is joining us from Italy for one morning only. Together we’ll bake the Italian sweets that fill our family’s Christmas table: crisp almond cantucci, a jam crostata and Mamma Anna’s own bocconotti. She’ll share her family recipes and the small secrets that make them work.

This seasonal baking class is jam-packed with baking tips and creative ideas. Under our step by step guide, you’ll learn a range of different baking techniques that you can use for several other recipes and on a number of different occasions.

While everything bakes, we sit down to a festive Italian brunch. Then we wrap your bakes to take home as edible gifts, so your Christmas presents are done by lunchtime.

What you'll bake:

Cantucci: twice-baked Italian almond biscuits, for coffee or Vin Santo
Crostata: a classic Italian jam tart, made with your own pasta frolla
Bocconotti: small filled pastries from Mamma Anna’s kitchen, made her way

You'll learn to:

Make and handle pasta frolla, the buttery Italian shortcrust pastry, from scratch
Make a small crostata tart made with pasta frolla and jam
Master the twice-baked method for crisp cantucci
Fill and shape bocconotti so they bake evenly
Package your bakes as gifts that travel and keep

Bocconotti are small filled shortcrust pastries from southern Italy, baked for celebrations. In this class Mamma Anna teaches her family recipe.

Do I take my baking home?

Yes. Everything you make is packaged in class to give as Christmas gifts.

Our cookery classes and supper club events are non-refundable. No changes are allowed if the class/ event is missed. When you register for a class/ event, you agree to these terms.

Should you not be able to attend you can either:
Send someone else to attend on your behalf (subject to prior notification to us)
Request at least 3 working days before the date of your class, to postpone it to another upcoming event, depending on availability.

For cookery classes, we require a minimum of 4 participants attending the event and for supper clubs and guest chef collaboration events, we require a minimum of 8 participants attending the event. We reserve the right to cancel the class/ event due to insufficient enrollment or if we need to postpone it due to an unforeseen occurrence.

We will, at your convenience, transfer you onto another class/ event; if this option does not suit, you will receive a full refund. In this case, you will be informed at least 48 hours before the class.
